The Hartford Hawks hammered the Binghamton Bearcats 97-65 in West Hartford on Saturday afternoon.  The Hawks were almost unstoppable on offense,  They cruised to a 56-30 lead at the half and were not threatened in the second half as they upped their America East record to 3-1.  The Bearcats fall to 0-3 in America East competition.

How hot were the Hawks offensively ?  Well...they made 61 percent of their field goals (35-57) but even more impressive was their three-point shooting.  The Hawks went 18-23 from beyond the arc for a blistering 78 percent !  And the hottest Hawk ?  Travis Weatherington who made ten of 11 three-point tries and 12 of 14 shots overall for a game-high 34 points.  He scored 20 of those points in the first half and didn't miss a shot until early in the second half.

The Bearcats were ahead for just 45 seconds.  Binghamton had two players score in double figures.  J.C. Show scored 11 points while Thomas Bruce scored 10 points.

Binghamton is back in action on Monday night with a home game against long-time rival Albany. Air is set for 6:45 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
