The Hartford Hawks held off a late Binghamton charge to defeat the Bearcats February 4 at the Events Center in Vestal by a final score of 51-46.  The Bearcats trailed by three points 25-22 at the end of the first half.  Both teams put together 11-0 runs in the first 20 minutes.

The Bearcats pulled to within one point late in the second half but Hartford came through in the clutch to clinch the road win.  Hartford senior Amber Bepko led all scorers with 18 points.  Binghamton was paced by Jasmine Sina and Kim Albrecht who netted 14 points apiece. Sherae Swinson came close to a double-double for the Bearcats.  She scored nine points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss.

The victory gives the Hawks a sweep of the two-game series.  Hartford defeated the Bearcats in West Hartford last month 59-44.

With the win Hartford moves to 7-3 in America East.  The Bearcats fall to 2-8.  Binghamton has now lost seven in a row.  Next up for BU is a trip to Burlington to face the Vermont Catamounts February 7 at 2 p.m..  Tim Heiman has the call beginning at 1:45 on ESPN 1360 AM WYOS.
