Harpersfield Blaze Injures One

Officials are investigating the cause of a fire in Delaware County that resulted in one person being air-lifted to a hospital.

About 100 firefighters battled the blaze on Moxham Road in Harpersfield that was reported at 11:20 a.m. March 20.

Two people were working inside the garage when the fire broke out and one was injured.

There were no injuries reported to any firefighters.

Crews from Stamford, Davenport, Jefferson, Hobart, Grand Gorge and Roxbury were called to the scene.

The blaze was put out in a little over a half hour, but it took responders several hours to extinguish hot spots and take down the structure’s tin roof.
