The Binghamton Bearcats softball team has gotten off to a solid start posting a 14-9 record heading into Thursday's home opener as they host Niagara in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.  One of the reasons the Bearcats have had early-season success has been the play of senior outfielder Sydney Harbaugh.  Harbaugh has been named the America East Player of the Week, the third time she has earned the honor.

In a three-game sweep over America East foe UMass Lowell Harbaugh went 8-13 (.515) with four extra-base hits and drove in four runs.  She also scored five runs.

Over the first 23 games this season Harbaugh is batting .368.  She has hit a pair of home runs and driven in 18 runs.

Thursday is Youth Day at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  Fans 12 and under get in free as the Bearcats look to continue their winning streak. With a pair of wins Tuesday at Central Connecticut State the Bearcats have won six games in a row.
