Local law enforcement agencies are stepping up patrols over the weekend to make sure roads and neighborhoods are safe during Halloween celebrations.  Special DWI enforcement patrols are being deployed through the weekend.

Meanwhile, authorities remind residents to make sure they pay attention to costumes for the children to ensure they can be seen and the trick-or-treater has clear vision.

Also, area sheriff’s agencies say they have also taken steps to make sure paroled sex offenders do not have contact with any child.  In several communities, the parolees are not allowed out of their homes during the evening, cannot answer the door and may be subject to random checks by parole and police officers.
