Barb Mack receives another honor this weekend when she is inducted into the Southern Tier Broadcasters Hall of Fame along with her father Bill Mack.  Barb and her dad have been a part of the Binghamton area's polka music scene for decades.  Barb began helping her father when she was just eight years old.  Bill Mack brought the first polka show to area radio in the early 60's and following his retirement and subsequent passing Barb has carried on the tradition with "The Barb Mack Show" aired Sundays from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Over the years Barb has been involved in numerous community events, hosted bus trips to polka concerts all over the Northeast and introduced a number of polka shows around the region including many done by polka legend Jimmy Sturr. An accomplished dancer she was involved in competitions from Michigan to Texas and Nebraska to New England winning dozens of trophies and awards.

Besides hosting "The Barb Mack Show" Barb  has been a full-time marketing consultant for Townsquare Media which includes WNBF.  Barb is one of the region's all-time favorite broadcast personalities. Listeners and co-workers love Barb Mack ! She was honored in 2013 as the Southern Tier Broadcasters Association "Broadcaster of the Year".  Oom Pah !!!!

Barb will be honored in an induction ceremony at 2:00 PM this Saturday at the Bundy Museum of History & Art, 129 Main Street, Binghamton.  A dinner and reception follows later that evening at the Doubletree by Hilton in Binghamton.

Also set for induction on Saturday are long-time WBNG news anchor, director and General Manager, Greg Catlin, WSKG television host Bill Jaker and veteran radio host and account executive Hank Sommers.  Another Townsquare Media veteran is being honored with the group's "Broadcaster of the Year" award.  Doug Mosher hosts the morning show on 99.1 The Whale, WAAL and will receive his award Saturday evening.
