Visitors to Gusto "A Taste of Italy" on Endicott's Northside last night enjoyed delicious food, entertainment and a chance to see many neighbors and friends.  Despite battling a heavy rain to start the event and another shower later in the evening the hundreds who attended were able to enjoy the evening.

People from all around the area came to Gusto which was organized a few years ago to celebrate Endicott's Little Italy neighborhood and bring together local residents.  The event has become so popular that it draws people from all over the area and many who have moved away but come back to Endicott to see old friends and classmates.

Witherill Street between Oak Hill Avenue and Odell Avenue was lined with vendors with many favorite Italian specialties.  There was a line in the rain at 5 PM to buy lamb spiedies.  Other favorites like lasagna, manicotti, sausage and peppers, cannoli and Italian Ice were featured.

I enjoyed chicken spiedies, manicotti and a cannoli.  All tasted great and yes, all were home made.
