Two Binghamton men were arrested following a vehicle search on the city's East Side.

Authorities say three handguns, ammunition and cocaine were discovered after the traffic stop on Monday.

Investigators say 25-year-old Diondre Smith of Henry Street was charged with two drug possession counts and four weapon possession counts.

Smith also was charged with a parole violation. Police say he was out on parole on a drug-related charge.

In addition to the guns and drugs, investigators say Smith was in possession of more than $5,000 in cash and a digital scale with cocaine residue.

Police say the second man, 22-year-old Tyrek McCarden of Sturges Street, was in possession of some marijuana.

Smith was arraigned in Binghamton city court and sent to Broome County jail.

McCarden was released on an appearance ticket.
