Greyhound Leroy to Meet His Fans Saturday

Leroy is a big, goofy, lovable greyhound who somehow lost all but about two inches of his tail and is looking for a good home.

Leroy will be at Tractor Supply in Vestal Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. for a Monica's Heart Greyhound Adoption meet and greet. Other adoptable greyhounds being fostered in the Southern Tier and Central New York will also be on hand.

While the dogs all used to race for a living, running at speeds of up to 40 miles an hour, once they are retired, they take it very seriously. They're very calm, loving pets and, no, they do not require a lot of room to run. They'd rather lie on the couch.
