Retired racing greyhound, Leroy is currently being fostered in Johnson City after racing  at a greyhound track in West Virginia and is available for adoption.

Leroy is a big 'Tuxedo Black' dog with an adorable, pencil-thin white stripe down his face.

Monica's Heart Greyhound Adoption officials say it's not known how Leroy lost all but about two inches of his tail. Video of Leroy racing show he still did fairly well even without the traditional long, greyhound tail.

Leroy is making appearances at meet and greet events around the region. regular meet and greets are held the first Saturday of the month at Tractor Supply in Vestal and the second Sunday of each month at Creature Comforts in the Northgate Plaza on Upper Front Street in the Town of Chenango.  Meet and Greets run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

All dogs up for adoption can be seen at the Monica's Heart website along with information about the adoption agency: www.monicasheart.com.
