Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Greg Peavey has been named the Eastern League's Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 5 - 11.  Peavey starred in a B-Mets 6-0  win at New Hampshire  when he went the distance, giving up just two singles for his first career nine inning shutout.

Peavey's record is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.16.  He needed just 100 pitches and struck out six in his win over the Fisher Cats.  It is the second time Peavey has earned Pitcher of the Week honors at the Double-A level.  He earned the award in April, 2012 as well.

Peavey was selected by the New York Mets in the sixth round of the 2010 draft from Oregon State University.  His two-hitter snapped a four-game losing streak.for Binghamton.

The B-Mets are off tonight and begin a three-game series with the Altoona Curve at NYSEG Stadium tomorrow night at 6:35 (airtime at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
