Government Leadership Positions in Broome County Filled

7th District Binghamton City Councilman is the new Council president.  The Democrat replaces fellow Democrat, 3rd District Councilwoman Teri Rennia.

Rennia steps in as majority leader.

Rennia can't run again in the fall and said she did not to serve as president in her last year on Council.

Across Governmental Plaza from City Hall, Republican Broome County Legislator Jerry Marinich has been elected Chairman.

The 10th district representative has been Chairman of the Legislature since 2011.
