Speaking on the September 8th Southern Tier Closeup public affairs program on WNBF Goodwill Theatre executive director, Naima Kradjian told host, Kathy Whyte that some more "visible" progress is being made on the restoration of the historic theatre on Willow Street, Johnson City. A lot of debris in the building is being removed and rigging and other structures stablized.  While Kradjian could not give an estimate of when the theater would be ready for it's first opening night in decades, she said it was hoped that the building could be in a suitable state before the end of the year to possibly give tours.

The neighboring Shore Family Firehouse Stage in the old Johnson City fire station at the corner of Willow Street and Corliss Avenue, meanwhile, has some  new and exciting performances scheduled for the upcoming season, including comedy! More information on the restoration and performances can be found at www.goodwilltheatre.net.
