Going…Going…Gone !

The much talked about and much anticipated promotion of outfielder Michael Conforto from Binghamton to the New York Mets has come.

Conforto got the word from B-Mets skipper Pedro Lopez in Trenton where Binghamton was preparing for a game against the Trenton Thunder.

Conforto started in left field for New York at Citi Field July 24 in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers won the game 7-2 and Conforto went 0-3 with an RBI on a groundout.  The move was made after veteran outfielder Michael Cuddyer was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury.

At the time of his call-up Conforto was batting .306 with five home runs and 26 RBI in Binghamton.

He was recently named the Eastern League Player of the Week.  Conforto was the New York Mets number-one draft pick in 2014 and the tenth overall pick.
