General Killed in Afghanistan Was From Albany, N.Y.
The American Army Major General who was killed in Afghanistan August 5 was a native New Yorker.
Army officials say Major General Harold Greene was an Albany native and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1980.
Greene was killed and over a dozen others injured by an Afghan soldier who opened fire during a training program in Kabul.
The shooter was also killed.
