A New York State Supreme Court Judge is still reserving judgement on whether or not NG Advantage can move forward with constructing a natural gas compressor station in the Town of Fenton.

Judge Ferris Lebous is leaving a temporary restraining order, halting the project, in place.

The Chenango Valley School District is among those challenging the plans to put the compressor station and trucking terminal on West Service Road in Hillcrest, which is near schools, a residential neighborhood and park and is a heavily traveled route, frequently used by school buses.

The challenge being considered in Supreme Court concentrates on the review and wording of the environmental permitting and other specifics of the project.

Earlier this week, New York State Senator Fred Akshar issued a statement about the project, based on fact-finding from his office.  The Republican said, while he supports natural gas expansion in the state, the NG Advantage project is a poor fit for the Hillcrest site.
