Garnar Running For Broome County Executive

Jason Garnar is launching a campaign to run as a Democratic candidate for Broome County executive.

Garnar, a former county legislator, announced his campaign with a video posted on Sunday (March 6).

A formal campaign announcement has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Garnar represented sections of Binghamton on the county legislature for several years. He resigned last year after he moved outside the district.

In his campaign video, Garnar expressed concern about the ongoing loss of jobs and the heroin epidemic in the county.

County Executive Debra Preston has not yet announced whether she intends to seek another term in November.
