Program Manager at the Binghamton Rescue Mission, Michael Ross appears on the February 14 edition of the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up to talk about the February 28 Freeze Out 5K to End Homelessness run/walk.

This is the second year the event is being held on the SUNY Broome Community College campus on Upper Front Street in the Town of Dickinson.

In addition to details about the event, Ross offers insight into the scope and depth of the problem of homelessness in the Binghamton area and what is being done now to address residence issues.

Ross says funds raised on the 28th will go a long way to help the Rescue Mission in its work to offer safe shelter and guidance to homeless people to assist them in getting their lives back on track.

Information on the run/walk can be found at www.freezeout5k.com.

Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
