A former Tioga County car dealer, twice convicted of murder in the disappearance of his wife and who is awaiting a third trial, is looking for the ‘real killer’ of Michele Harris.

Cal Harris and his four children are expected to formally launch a confidential tip line tomorrow to gather information about the September, 2001 disappearance of the Town of Spencer woman.

Cal Harris was arrested in 2005 and charged with Michele’s murder.  His convictions have been twice overturned.  His next trial is to be held in Schoharie County after being granted a chance of venue last year over concerns that an unbiased jury could not be seated in Tioga or Broome Counties.

Authorities have never recovered the woman’s body or a murder weapon.

In a statement this week, Cal Harris and the couple’s children said they believe there are people out there who have information in relation to the case.

The news release included a written statement from daughter, cayla who said the child believe their father had nothing to do with whatever happened to their mother.

The new tip line number is (607) 215-5166.
