Former Sanitaria Springs Fire Department Treasurer Sentenced for Theft

The former treasurer of the Sanitaria Springs fire company will be on probation for five years after pleading guilty to grand larceny in October.

42 year old Nichole Rogers was sentenced January 3rd in connection with the theft of over $71,000 from the department between 2008 and 2011 which she used to make house payments.Rogers has also been ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution and a $750 collection fee. In addition, Rogers reportedly owes the fire department's insurance company $50,000.

The Port Crane woman has already repaid $5,000 to the department.
