Robert Ford, former play- by- play voice of the Binghamton Mets and Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team on News Radio 1290 WNBF has landed the job as the radio play-by-play broadcaster of the Houston Astros.!  Ford, who spent four seasons with the Binghamton Mets and three seasons broadcasting Binghamton University's women's basketball games, leaves his job as the pre and post-game host on the Kansas City Royals Radio Network.

Ford is a graduate of Syracuse University and has been in Kansas City working on the Royal's broadcast team since 2009.  Prior to Binghamton he worked as the pbp voice of the Kalamazoo Kings and the Yakima Bears.

Ford will team with former Major Leaguer Steve Sparks.  The duo will broadcast 33 Astros' Spring Training games and all 162 regular season games on SportsTalk 790.  Their first game is set for Saturday, February 23 when the Astros meet the Philadelphia Phillies.
