A staunch supporter of natural gas drilling in New York State says he was shoved over three bar stools by anti-fracking supporter and former Binghamton Mayor Matthew Ryan.

Victor Furman says he filed a police report following the August 20th incident at Davy’s Last Chance Saloon on Route 12 in Chenango Forks in which he and Ryan engaged in another heated exchange about fracking.

The pair has a long history of public shouting matches concerning the controversial gas extraction method.

New York State Police say Ryan has been charged with harassment and Furman says he’s filed an order of protection against the former mayor.

No court date has been set.

Ryan told Time Warner Cable News that if the case does go to court he looks forward to the truth coming out.

In an off-air conversation with WNBF News the former mayor stated a similar belief that he will be exonerated of any charges.  Ryan declined the opportunity to speak about the incident on today's Binghamton Now program.
