Former Binghamton Bearcat ace Mike Augliera is working his way up the ladder in professional baseball.  After two seasons in Class A ball Augliera is now pitching for the Portland Sea Dogs in the Double-A Eastern League.  He was the starting pitcher last Friday at NYSEG Stadium when his Sea Dogs faced the B-Mets.  He pitched seven innings and gave up all five runs in a 5-1 loss to Binghamton.  Only two of those runs were earned .

Augliera is 2-2 after five starts this season and sports an ERA of 3.48 over 31 innings pitched.  In his stint against the B-Mets he pitched in front of several family members and this year's Binghamton Bearcats baseball team who came out to watch their former teammate perform.

Augliera, a native of Old Bridge, New Jersey was a fifth round pick of the Boston Red Sox in the 2012 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft.
