Speaking on the January 12th edition of the Southern Tier Close Up public affairs program on WNBF, Community & Public Relations Manager for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Missy Goetschius told host, Kathy Whyte that the agency has been partnered with agencies like the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, Catholic Charities, BOCES and more in the Greater Binghamton area for years and has recently expanded that involvement.

Goetschius says CHOW is the first satellite distribution site for the Elmira-based Food Bank.

The agency, which started staging mobile food pantries in rural areas, has since expanded that program and is appearing in more urban environments, seeking to address any area where people may be finding difficulty meeting their food needs.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier serves Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins Counties.
