A Town of Newark Valley volunteer fire company is finally to get federal disaster money to move their firehouse, heavily damaged in the 2011 flood.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be giving the Glen Aubrey Fire Department a $500,000 to relocate the firehouse out of the flood plane.

That would be about a half mile from the current location on route 26.

The award was announced by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer of New York.
