Firefighters are being challenged by cold weather conditions as well as flames at they work at the scene of a house fire in the Town of Maine January 7.

Broome County Emergency Services officials say the two-alarm blaze was reported at a home around 8:53 a.m. at 149 Fredericks Road and a second alarm was quickly sounded.

Authorities shut down Fredericks Road at Pitkins Road.

Firefighters, ambulance and other emergency personnel were anticipated to be on the scene for much of the morning with fire investigators looking into a cause later in the day.
