Officials with the New York State Dormitory Authority will be evaluating the condition of the Matteson Hall dorm at SUNY Oneonta following a fire yesterday afternoon.

The fire broke out at around  4 o’clock and flames could be seen shooting from a third floor window.

Multiple fire departments responded to the campus and quickly brought the fire under control.

All 177 residents of the hall were accounted for and there were no injuries. Those students were housed overnight at the Chase Gymnasium

The cause of the fire, which heavily damaged the third floor suite is under investigation.
