Fire Destroys Home in Greene

No injuries are reported in a two alarm fire in Chenango County that destroyed a home in Greene.

Fire officials say flames engulfed half the house on Jackson Hill Road when they were called at around 1:30 p.m. January 27.

Crews had to attack the blaze from the outside due to the extent and intensity of the fire.

The owner of the house had been home at the time.

The cause is being investigated.

Firefighters from Greene, Coventry, Brisben, Port Crane, Chenango Forks and Smithville all responded to the scene.
