Investigators are looking into the cause of a two alarm fire that broke out in a Town of Chenango home.

Broome County Emergency Services officials say the blaze on Kennedy Road was reported at 10:04 p.m. November 23 and immediately was elevated to two alarms.

A neighbor is credited for waking the resident and allowing her to get out with her dog.

No injuries have been reported.

Crews from Chenango, Chenango Bridge Hillcrest and Prospect Terrace were able to clear from the scene less than three hours later.

The fire appeared to have started in the rear of the house.

While there was fire, smoke and water damage, fire officials say they do not believe the home will be listed as a total loss.
