Fire Damages a Johnson City Apartment House

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting a half dozen residents of an apartment house in Johnson City that has been damaged in a fire.

Firefighters were called to the building on Mildred Street shortly before 8 a.m. June 1st and witnesses from several miles away from the blaze called emergency dispatchers to report thick black smoke.

There are no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
