The sidewalk in front of a pair of apartment buildings damaged by a February fire has been closed after a person reportedly was struck by a falling brick.

The buildings at 259 and 261 Main Street sustained heavy damage in the winter blaze blamed on a man cooking meth.

City police were called Thursday afternoon by a woman who indicated she had been hit by a brick or some other object from the apartment complex.

City engineer Philip Krey inspected the scene and barricades were put in place to prevent people from walking in front of the buildings.

Krey indicated city officials have had discussions with the property owner about tearing down the damaged structures.

There's no word as to when the buildings might be removed.

Dozens of people were left homeless by the February 23rd fire.
