Cortland County Sheriff’s officials are crediting an anonymous tip for leading them to apprehend a man wanted for a home invasion robbery in the Town of Cortlandville.

29 year old Devon Williams of Syracuse is charged with nine felony counts and seven misdemeanor charges in connection with the robbery on Homestead Avenue October 4.

Sheriff’s officials say with information they received from the tip, the found Williams was already incarcerated at the Onondaga County Justice Center on unrelated charges.

After contacting the Syracuse Police Department Warrant Squad, Williams was taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department.

Williams is charged with two felony burglary counts, three felony robbery charges, grand larceny, conspiracy, strangulation, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing, petit larceny, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breath.

Dominique Coker, Genessa Thomas, Adam Gregg and Crystal Drake had previously been arrested in the case.
