Fenton Man Pleads Guilty in Broome and Federal Court to Sex Abuse

A 43 year old Town of Fenton man faces over 20 years in federal prison for taking sexually explicit photos of a teenaged girl.

Jeffrey Turner, who was indicted in March in federal court for child pornography and who was charged in Broome County Court with 32 sex offense-related counts, has pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of producing child pornography as well as charges of rape and criminal sexual act. Right after entering that plea, Turner appeared in Broome County Court to plead guilty to sexually abusing the 14 year old girl in two incidents.

Turner was arrested after the girl told Broome Sheriff's officials in August of 2012 that she had been raped since Memorial Day weekend.

Investigators say they found sexually explicit photos of the girl on Turner's computer.

Sentencing on both the county and federal charges is set for September.

Turner is being held in the custody of U.S. Marshals at the Broome County Jail.
