As Father's Day celebrations continue today many Dad's and their sons and daughters were on hand at NYSEG Stadium to watch the Binghamton Mets play the Bowie Baysox.  A Joe Bonfe 9th inning walk-off home run gave the B-Mets a 5-4 win.

But Dad's and their kids were there not just to watch baseball being played but to also get a chance to toss the ball around themselves...to "have a catch" a phrase made famous in the baseball movie "Field of Dreams".

Despite a light rain that began to fall late in the B-Mets game a number of Dad's and their sons and daughters headed onto the field  after the game.  The B-Mets provided the baseballs and the fathers and kids brought their gloves.  They had the change to throw the ball around together.

Baseball  goes hand in hand with Father's Day.  Every family has its own traditions.  Some celebrate with cookouts or picnics.  Others may head to a restaurant or enjoy time on the back porch.  But for baseball fans the chance to "throw the ball around"  to "have a catch" is something that will be remembered for many Father's Days to come.  They did just that courtesy of the Binghamton Mets.  Happy Father's Day !
