Fatal Roll Over Crash on Route 17 in Windsor

New York State Police say a Monticello, New York resident is dead following a one vehicle roll-over crash on State Route 17 in a construction zone in Windsor July 12.

Troopers say 36 year old Fareeha Nausheen was driving west in the area of exit 80 when she lost control of the vehicle.  The minvan skidded across the open westbound lane and into the lane under construction, causing the vehicle to roll several times. 

Rear seat passenger 77 year old Muktar Began of Monticello was ejected and was hit by the vehicle before it came to a rest in the center median.  Began was pronounced dead at the scene.

A three year old rear seat passenger was also ejected and suffered minor injury.

Four surviving occupants of the vehicle were taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Nausheen was ticketed for moving from a lane unsafely and failure to use child restraint seats.
