The Broome County Sheriff’s Office says its investigation into a Mother’s Day crash in front of the Johnson City School Bus Garage that left a little girl dead is complete.

Authorities say 32 year old Thomas Steyer of Binghamton was driving in the wrong lane on East Maine Road for unknown reasons and a car driven by 17 year old Jontay Card of Binghamton was unable to avoid Steyer’s vehicle.

4 year old Samrya Oakly was ejected from the car driven by Card and she suffered fatal injuries. The child was in a car safety seat, according to authorities.

Steyer was issued 11 traffic tickets, including citations for reckless driving, failure to keep right and speeding.

The District Attorney’s Office was consulted and authorities say no criminal charges are filed.
