A Dushore, Pennsylvania woman is dead after a vehicle driven by a Towanda man failed to yield to oncoming traffic while attempting to make a left-hand turn on Route 220 at the intersection with Brocktown road in Monroe Township March 13.

Pennsylvania State Police say 66 year old Rosemary Manuel was driving a Ford Tempo on Route 220 4:36 p.m. when a Hyundai Elantra driven by 69 year old Richard Leighton pulled into her path, colliding with Manuel’s car, head-on.

Manuel was pronounced dead at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.

Leighton suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital.

State Police say alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.
