Farmers markets in the region are preparing for spring and the opportunity for local farmers to sell their crops.

The Town of Union is seeking vendors for the weekly Farmers Markets at Highland Park which start June 2 and run through September 22.

Vendor areas are 12-feet by 12-feet and are assigned by the Town.

Applications must be accompanied by any applicable license, permit, tax certificate and proof of $1 million in liability insurance.  Applications are due by May 25.

Prospective vendors can contact the Town of Union Parks and Recreation Department at (607) 786-2970.

The Downtown Binghamton Farmers’ Market is also seeking vendors.

The dates for this year’s markets have not been set, but they normally open in mid-June on Collier Street next to the Court House Green and are open on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Those interested can contact Market Committee Chairman Eric Denk at (607) 206-9471 or by email at ericdenk@gmail.com.
