Familia Scheduled To Pitch Tonight

Jeurys Familia is scheduled to pitch in tonight's Binghamton Rumble Ponies game against the Portland Sea Dogs at NYSEG Stadium.  Familia will wear number 27 tonight.

Familia played in Binghamton in 2011.  He was a starter for the B-Mets that season.  He had a record of 4-4 with an earned run average of 3.49 with action in 17 games.

Familia is working his way back to the Major Leagues after a 15 game suspension to begin the season due to a domestic violence incident that occurred last Fall.  He pitched one scoreless inning for St. Lucie on Saturday night.

Familia is eligible to return to duty with New York on Thursday.  There has been no announcement of whether Familia will pitch in more than one game in Binghamton.

With the New York Mets Familia has exceeled as a closer.  Last year he led the National League in saves with 51 and was named to the National League All-Star game.

Tonight's game begins at 6:35.  Broadcast time is set for 6:20 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
