Faith Leaders Protest New York Legislative Pay Raise Proposal
Pastors, nuns and other church leaders say New York State lawmakers should be raising the minimum wage before they take up a proposal to give their own wages a bump.
A demonstration was held in Albany November 25 where leaders said too many New Yorkers are struggling to survive on the current $8 an hour.
Legislators make $79,500 a year in base salary now. It's been 14 years since they last got a raise.
