Tioga Open Farm Day will take place on June 10, 2017. Eight Tioga County Farms will open their doors to the public for a self-guided tour. “Tioga Open Farm Day offers so many fun, tasty, and exciting experiences for people of all ages! It’s not your typical farm experience.

Some farms will be offering samples of food, tours, and chance to see animals,” said Rebecca Maffei, Director, Tioga County Tourism. Lisa Engelbert, owner of Engelbert Farms in Nichols, helped organize Tioga Open Farm Day and will have samples, tours, and other local agricultural businesses featured at her farm on Saturday. Tours of the farm will be offered on the hour from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Other Tioga Open Farm Day stops are Stoughton Farm in Newark Valley with early summer produce, Our Green Acres in Owego with tours of their new drip-line irrigation system, The Farmhouse Brewery with a special tasting offer, Twin Brook Farm in Owego with animals and meatball tasting, Sweetrees Maple in Berkshire with maple products and tours of the sugarhouse and woods, Side Hill Acres in Candor with tours and tastings, and Iron Kettle Farm in Candor with food and flowers!
