Additional Information

Come join the Cayuga Nature Center and Cornell biologist, Dr. Marvin Pritts, for the unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of Smith Woods, an old growth forest where trees over 200 years old tower to impressive heights.

Preserved since 1819, this historic ecosystem exists untouched by pioneer colonization, allowing for a glimpse at rare tree species, unique fungi and flowers, and mammoth hemlocks. A hike through Smith Woods is a hike back in time!

Note: For the protection of endangered and vulnerable species, please make sure to stay on paths during the walk.
