A man wanted by Endicott police was taken into custody following a foot pursuit through several backyards in Endwell.

Authorities say 34-year-old Jason Crosetto ran away from a Broome County sheriff's deputy who stopped a vehicle for an inspection violation on East Main Street near Delaware Avenue. The car was pulled over just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The deputy chased Crosetto through the backyards of nearby homes and onto Kentucky Avenue.

Authorities say the deputy utilized a Taser device but Crosetto continued to resist arrest.

Crosetto said he fled because he was aware he was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Investigators say he was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He also was cited for operating an uninspected vehicle.

Crosetto was turned over to Endicott police for arraignment on a warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
