Endwell Man Accused of Firing Rifle in Dispute
Police have arrested an Endwell resident after a rifle reportedly was discharged during an argument on an Endicott street.
Authorities say Brian Shofkom of Pierce Avenue was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
According to Endicott police, Shofkom is accused of discharging at least one round from a .22 caliber rifle during a dispute with another man on Madison Avenue. The incident was said to have occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on October 25.
Investigators say no injuries were reported. The rifle and a shell casing were recovered.
Shofkom was arraigned in Endicott village court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
