An Apalachin man is being charged with drunk driving after a motorist reported an erratic driver on Phylis Street and followed the driver to the parking lot of Jonathans Bar in Endwell.

The caller reported the car was driving at an excessive speed, came to an abrupt stop at an intersection before the engine was gunned and the car sped off.

The witness said they were particularly concerned since there were children in the area, prompting the decision to follow the car to the Endwell bar parking lot.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies found 38 year old Michael Potter inside the bar and performed sobriety tests.

Potter is charged with two DWI counts and was released to a family member.
