An officer with the Broome County Sheriff’s Highway Patrol Division says he observed an Endicott man acting suspiciously in a neighborhood where a vehicle had been broken into and ended up arresting him.

Deputy Michael Mastronardi was patrolling a neighborhood in Endwell March 6 when he saw a car with the door open and dome light on.

22 year old Wesley Goodman was found a short distance away, walking down the street.

Deputy Mastronardi says Goodman had a flashlight with him, lied about his identity and gave several different stories about why he was out walking before he ran from the Deputy.

Deputy Mastronardi says he caught Goodman and found he had loose change in his possession that he admitted stealing from cars in the neighborhood.

Goodman is charged with false personation, petit larceny and obstructing governmental administration.

Anyone in the Endwell area that find their vehicle was rummaged through March 6 is asked to call the Broome County Sheriff’s Office at (607) 778-1911 to file a report.
