Authorities say the collision was reported at 1:57 a.m. Saturday on the Vestal Parkway - Route 434 - at the Center Drive entrance to the university.

The 16-year-old bicyclist reportedly was riding across the parkway, following two friends who also were on bikes. He was struck by a westbound 1999 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.

Police say the youth sustained a fractured leg in the crash. The SUV left the scene but the driver returned several minutes later.

Investigators say the driver, 24-year-old Michael Hock of Endicott, was charged with driving with a blood alcohol content above .08 percent. He was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail on $2,000 bail.

Hock and two passengers who were in the vehicle were not injured.

Police say the case is being reviewed by the Broome County District Attorney's Office and more charges are possible.
