An Endicott woman is accused of trying to market a 14 year old girl for sex.

24 year old La Rhonda James is charged with felony sex trafficking and persuading and inducing a child to engage in prostitution.

The indictment this month in Federal Court follows an investigation in November into suspected prostitution activities through the internet.

Authorities say, after calling a number found on the website, an investigator was contacted in a motel room on the Vestal Parkway by a teenager looking to have sex in exchange for money.

James was taken into custody in the motel parking lot.

She was charged in municipal court in November before the case moved to Federal Court.

James remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities say 33 year old Alphonso Dennis of Binghamton is also believed to have been involved in prostituting the teen.

He is being charged with felony sex trafficking and is being held in the Broome County Jail.
