Police Chief Patrick Garey said the department was looking into the situation at 1902 Monroe Street.

According to Garey, police officers responded to the residence at 4:30 a.m. Thursday. They were called to investigate a report of an unresponsive man. When they checked out the place, they found what they believed were components of a meth lab.

The police chief said Monroe Street between Jackson and Arthur avenues was closed while the scene was being processed.

Garey said his agency was being assisted by the state police, the Endicott Fire Department and the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad.
