The Endicott Police Department once again has an officer serving on the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.

It had been several years since the village police agency was part of the task force, which has members from the Broome County Sheriff's Office as well as the Binghamton and Johnson City police departments.

Endicott police chief Michael Cox says village officer Dale Lane will be working with the unit.

Detective Sergeant Matt Cower, the task force supervisor, says he's pleased the Endicott department is working with the unit again.

Cower says the involvement of the additional agency should help in drug interdiction efforts in Broome County.
